| I noticed that my DD Teacher misses school? She missed school 5 days this year. and My DS teacher missed school 9 days this year. My friend think is strange that I check how many times they misss school but I like making sure my kids are learning so I take attandance. do you do the same? |
| Omg no. Mind your own business. |
| Huh? Yeah, no. I have better things to do with my time. |

You don't sound quite normal, OP. Apart from the mistakes in your post.
Teachers can fall sick and have medical check-ups just like the rest of us! They have substitutes when they are absent. Some of these subs are bad, some are good, the best are usually returning subs whom the children already know. Are you obsessive like this for everything in your life? Could you perhaps channel this energy elsewhere? |
I'm confused how taking attendance makes sure your kids are learning. Are they practicing counting or data collection? |
just making sure my kids are learning |
| Seems like OP needs to learn a few things herself. Her writing/communication skills are lacking. |
| My DC has had several substitute teachers this year -- perhaps all sick days or personal days, perhaps some were training days or testing days. I don't know and don't care. It's not my business, and the substitutes have been fine, holding a regular class day rather than 100% movies and chaos. |
| No. You're nuts. |
How does taking attendance accomplish that? |
| Um, no. I'm lucky if I know how many days my child has missed. Jeez! |
| No! Btw, your kid has 9 absences?! That's a lot. |
+1. My daughter's teacher just came back from a week of jury duty and told them all about it. |
Check yourself! |
