Just wanted to let dcum know it really works! I saw someone suggest it while searching here for a cure. It took around 6-7 months but I put a glob of Vicks on the toenail (after trimming it painfully short) and covered it with a Bandaid. I did this 1-2 times almost every day. My nail at the start was brownish green and growing up and out of the nail bed when I started and it's perfectly healthy again. Knock on wood.
also I'm probably never going to get a pedicure again since that's how I got it. |
Good to know. |
6-7 MONTHS?!
Jesus, just use an anti-fungal. |
+1 WTH!? |
They don't work, anti fungal work maybe 35% of the time. Op most likely is talking about the nail fully back to normal- ie grow out. The fungus was killed after a month or so. |
And anti fungal aren't possible for everyone. And taken internally with potential side effects. |
Jublia, the fancy new option, takes ELEVEN months. And has really low efficacy rates. http://www.jubliarx.com/efficacy-side-effects |
I used Vicks successfully too, it took about 5 months. No more pedicures for me either! |
tea tree oil
The woman who does my pedis always rubs some on clients' toes - prevention. never had toe fungus, btw |
I have tried this & it didn't work. However, I did not use a bandaid. How do you get the bandaid to stick after you put the Vick's on? |
Yep...have found most anti-fungals are a joke |
Exactly.. I have vowed no more pedis if I every get my toe fully recovered. |
My mother uses Vicks for everything! Like the dad in My Big Fat Greek Wedding used Windex. |
How does the band aid stick on the toe after putting on Vicks. |
If you only put the Vicks on the toenail fungus itself and not the whole toe then the bandade will stick. |
