So so sad, I don't understand how a parent could shoot their own little baby.

FORT WASHINGTON, Md. (WUSA9) – The man accused of shooting and killing a mother and her two-year-old daughter is in custody, police said.

According to Prince George's County police, the father of the 2-year-old admitted to his involvement in the murders.

Sources tell WUSA9 that the father is Daron Boswell-Johnson and he has been charged for the double murder.

Around 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, police found Davis suffering from gunshot wounds in a parking lot outside of her Fort Washington condo building. She lived in Pinewood Hill Condos, where she was pronounced dead on the scene.

Her two-year-old daughter Chloe was also shot. She was found strapped in a car seat nearby.

Chloe was taken to a hospital where she later died.

Neighbors told WUSA9 that Davis was in a custody dispute over her daughter. They heard arguing before three shots were fired.

Davis was an elementary school teacher in Capitol Heights at Bradbury Heights Elementary School. The school is helping people cope with the tragedy.

The murder did not occur in Cheverly...It occurred in Fort Washington, Maryland...

I heard about the shooting when it happened. How awful that the father killed his ex and his baby.

This really saddened me. I am a second grade teacher with a 2 year old and I just cannot imagine. That poor mom and child.

Sad that this thread has 6 replies and the rich white peope in NW was like 700 pages.

I have no idea how someone kills a child. He will be the lowest of the lowly cowards in jail. For $600/month. Disgusting.

That murder wasn't solved immediately, right? The suspect and motive were unclear so people were doing a lot of speculating.

In this case, we already know who did it, and why.

Not much to say now other than he should be under the jail -- and that this is yet another example of women being victimized for exercising their legal rights.

The WAPO article said there had been a recent paternity suit (December I think) and that the judge ordered $600/month in child support.
