He’s chaotic and profound at the same time, funny, quick-witted, sardonic, oddly brilliant in flashes before he reverts to a weird little muppet, very likely reeking of cigarettes and cabernet, and for some reason this combo is irresistible. He just scratches something in my brain.

But also: uh, he’s a rock star. It’s a thing.

Rock star to whom?

Love how these sudden “Matty and Taylor” fans are so selective in choosing the lyrics they’re posting here as clear “proof” she’s still pining for him. Funny not one is commenting on what she’s saying in “The smallest man who ever lived”. Hmmmmm…wonder why that is.

That song is in similar vein to All Too Well. She's looking back, expressing her pain/rage yet also closing the door. Love that song.

"And I don't even want you back, I just want to know
If rusting my sparkling summer was the goal?
And I don't miss what we had but could someone give
A message to the smallest man who ever lived"

Plus The Manuscript. She's happy where she is now. This isn't a current stream of consciousness album by any means. It's a literal post-mortem of so much, leading her to declare that she's happy now. "She knew what the agony had been for."

I like Taylor and I like the song, but idk... it feels very "you didn't invite me to your birthday party, but I didn't want to go anyway, so there!" to me.

Why is it ok for people to dislike and criticize Taylor on a thread about her music but not ok to dislike him? Are his PR people on this thread?

Hung like a Vienna sausage.

Where’s the pic of Travis and his camel toe outline that was posted previously in this thread…

And I was reading that MH was “happy” about the fact that he wasn’t treated terribly in this album - but wow, maybe he didn’t listen to that song?

Taylor seems to like intelligent, deep, artsy types based on her dating history. I don’t see her and Travis lasting, hung or not. When you talk Dylan Thomas and Charlie Puth until the small hours of the night with your “twin”, then compose a new song on your guitars together…That’s a high hard to replace by convos about burgers, beer and a dumb sport no one outside of middle America cares about. The difference in attraction is night and day.

+1. Then proceeds to have a dozen songs on how down bad she is. And has an imaginary wedding to him in Daddy I Love Him. After he sang in his hit song, “we get married in our heads”. She didn’t need to publish these songs, the album is 31 tracks! But she did release them, and there is a reason.
These two are sooo not over.

Not sure about Matty Healy personally, but there is no denying how beautiful “About You” is. Truly, a masterpiece.
