Travis and Taylor

The guy that writes songs about you, is definitely into you.
But also possibly into lots of other stuff too.

I agree. Matt was the first to mouth to her "This is about you. You know who you are. I love you" at his concert last May. She was in the audience. It was at the start of his band’s hit About You, which he wrote for Taylor and in which he says "we get married in our heads." I don’t see a man who doesn’t care.
Taylor responded with mouthing the same to him at her Nashville Eras concert right before Cardigan, which is clearly about Matty. "But I knew you'd linger like a tattoo kiss, I knew you'd haunt all of my what-ifs..." She released that song back in 2020. And on TTPD now she repeats, "you have haunted me so stunningly".

It appears those two have been crushing on each other for a long time. I am not sure what is going on to keep them apart. His mental health seems to have taken a hit in the past several months, and judging from her new album and all the drinking, so has hers. The pining continues…

What may keep them apart is Matty's abhorrence of her fame machine

I think that's been true of almost all of them unfortunately, which is why it's a theme in some of her new and older songs. It's why Travis appeared to be working because he didn't care (and for some reason I'm now speaking of them and their relationship in the past tense! This whole MH thing has my brain spinning.)
It's funny how this thread is now the Matty and Taylor thread.

Haha. So true. Someone earlier on here had written how she needs to make a grand gesture, and I was like, she did! The whole album is one grand gesture 😂. “F&ck it if I can’t have him, I might just as well die” grand.
Now the world awaits Matty’s reply.

But then I was like wait, did you mean a gesture to Travis?
I don’t see how you can make a grand gesture to any other man in the foreseeable future after this album.

Nobody’s clearly done from a transition guy.

Still very much together. People Magazine reporting they were very recently spotted on a couples’ retreat with Bradley Cooper and Gigi Hadid in Carmel-by-the-Sea.

If Travis had any balls he’d dump her. But he’s a thirsty fame seeker, and stupid, so I’m sure he’ll stick around for as long as possible.

What a ridiculous thing to say. Why are people so quick to jump on words to songs written some time ago and ignore that same author’s current words:

“The Tortured Poets Department. An anthology of new works that reflect events, opinions and sentiments from a fleeting and fatalistic moment in time - one that was both sensational and sorrowful in equal measure. This period of the author’s life is now over, the chapter closed and boarded up. There is nothing to avenge, no scores to settle once wounds have healed. And upon further reflection, a good number of them turned out to be self-inflicted. This writer is of the firm belief that our tears become holy in the form of ink on a page. Once we have spoken our saddest story, we can be free of it.”

Do the words fleeting and fatalistic mean anything to you? How about [b]This period of the author’s life is now over, the chapter closed and boarded up?
