Anyone else freaking out about the fact that Howard doesn't have a contract in place? Last show is Wed unless he gets a contract in place. I seriously can't imagine my drive to work without him. |
You need a life. |
You have no idea what you are missing if you aren't a stern fan. |
He is unlistenable. He's become exactly what he claimed to loathe- a celebrity. |
I listen to one of the Sirius country channels, and saw this tweet:
Congrats to one of my broadcasting heroes, as @HowardStern announces he's staying with SiriusXM for 5 more years! |

I like Stern, though I haven't listened to him in years, so I don't know the details of the current contract. I'm guessing OP knows about this because Stern has delivered several extended rants on the subject designed to -- guess what -- get his listeners in a tizzy as a means of negotiation. Looks like it worked. Stern is best when he stops the self-serving rants and just interviews people. |
I haven't listened to him for years but the WashPost Style section had an interesting article on him this morning. |
My husband used to be the biggest Howard Stern fan on the planet. Not only did he listen every day, but he actually recorded and burned onto CD every single Sirius episode so that he could re-listen to them someday in case the apocalypse happened and Stern retired.
He doesn't even listen anymore. He said that since Stern has gone onto America's Got Talent, the show is un-listenable. |
He's so old. I can't imagine people still listen to him. |
My husband was the same way but he started going downhill long before AGT. I think it was when he married Beth. She is a sweetheart but he became a celebrity and not your average husband, father, friend anymore. The show is so PC now- nothing is funny. |
I've listened to him since the early 90s, and I agree, the general banter isn't nearly as good as it was in the past, but the interviews he does are still awesome. |
Stern is the smartest guy on radio. It's a very well produced show, and I'm glad he's back for years to come. |
You haters are crazy. It's better now than ever before. It's less comedy and more social commentary, and the interviews are better than any other show or medium. |
You think it's better without Jackie or Artie? You don't miss Howard when he was married and had all this temptation but couldn't do anything because he was married to his first wife? With Beth, he doesn't even attempt to put himself into those situations. I like his staunch support of Israel. That's about it. |
