How Did You Feel Right Before You Went Into Labor?

Anonymous
I woke up very jittery and sick. I've had a tummy ache all morning and I feel like I've been drugged. Just not feeling normal. I keep having stabbing pains in my cervix. No steady contractions but I feel all around gross, like I want to vomit.

Were there any really out of it type feelings or do you remember anything really feeling off before you went into labor?

I woke up feeling like I was getting my period and then my water broke shortly thereafter. But every woman reacts differently. Are you due soon?

I'm due April 30th so I think that is soon. I'm never sure with these things if that is very close or not. I just do not feel right at all and now my boobs seem to have doubled in size.

If you are due April 30th, this is not too soon. It is considered completely normal to deliver anytime in the 2 weeks that precede your due date.

The morning of the day I gave birth, I didn't feel jittery or sick. I was tired. I had dreamt I was in labor (and it turns out I was). After eating my breakfast, I had to lay down on the couch and I remember my back was killing me in one particular spot. Once I pressed on that spot my water broke.

Hang in there!! You are very close to meeting your baby.

I felt "off" and it was a week before my due date (which I knew was incorrect b/c my DH was on business when my doctor estimated my pregnancy date).

It's hard to describe, but I know my body very well. So when I did not feel like myself I knew labor would be pending.

You're on the home stretch...good luck and enjoy!

I felt completely normal until the contractions started.

I felt funny and "off" the day before I delivered #2, totally fine and normal the day before #1.

Good luck w/the delivery whenever it happens!

I had the same "off" feeling that PP mentioned. Also, felt like I was about to have my period. With my second pregnancy again had the same "off" feeling. I called my midwife and told her I was going into labor. I tried to explain to her emotionally I felt the same as I did when I had my daughter. She didn't seem to believe me. I guess because I sounded too calm. All she said was, "oh, you're just tired/" A few hours later was having strong contractions and starting to push at home from my bathroom floor. Was pushing my son out as we arrived at the birthing center. He was born 5 minutes after we arrived.

I felt cramps like a period - and tired...then the cramps became more uncomfortable and were closer together (this lasted 2 days) then the cramps did not go away and the contractions began - cramping that was more intense like a stomach bug/food poisoning type cramp but they lasted 30 seconds - when they were often enough where I started timing it is when I went to the hospital and by then was begging for the epidural.
Second one - water broke and then contractions started - was much faster.

I felt like I had the worst case of PMS about a week before I went into labor. My appetite was up and down that week as well. I know this is going to sound weird, but I get a funny feeling in my sinuses when my period is about to start. That started a day or two before I went into labor. Also, I was incredibly bitchy.

Tired. I was done with work and napping twice a day. Napped at 9am and again at 3pm...my water broke at 4:30!

I felt perfectly normal right up until my water broke nearly 2 weeks after my due date. No cramps or feeling "off" at all.

With each of my two kids, I felt increasing BH contractions at night and an indiscribable feeling that labor was going to be "soon". LIsten to your body, sounds like you're going to be a mom soon (if you're not already by now!!!)
