I'm four chapters in and I'm forcing myself to read, so far I'm bored to tears.
Is it against book club etiquette to admit that early on? |
| We have book club??? |
| You really have to stick with it. It is an incredible story and so well-told. |

It's brand new. Feel free to "join" -

I am on chapter four too! Also a bit bored... but trying to slog through.
I am glad to know others are feeling the same. |
| Into the wild is better |
| Hitting the library today. Will catch up with you all. |
+1 I remember when I was reading it I would leave parties early so I could go home and read the book. It's amazing. And I say this as someone who doesn't even like this genre of book. |
| Is this the Everest story by Krakauer? If so I really liked it. |
That's the one |
| This is one of my favorite books of all time. But it's probably been a good 15 years since I read it, so I think it's time to bust it out again. |
| I'm from North India and I have always loved the mountains. This is an amazing book and not the sort of thing I would usually read. |
| For those of you enjoying Into Thin Air, I highly recommend Buried in the Sky: The Extraordinary Story of the Sherpa Climbers on K2's Deadliest Day and also High Crimes. |
| I have that book sitting on the bookcase - trying to get DH to read it. I read it years ago. Agree with PPs - stick with it - it is one of those books you remember reading years later. |

Read Annapurna by Maurice Herzog.
It's about the first ascent of the mountain in the 50s. PP from India, you'll find this one especially interesting I think. |
