The ERBs are standardized apptitude and achievement tests that cover reading comprehension, vocabulary, math, etc... the basic type of test you are familiar with. Second graders at local privates take it as a practice/prep test. Its not timed and they are learning how to take a standardized test (an art in and of itself you should know). The scores of 2nd graders are not officially "recorded." In 3rd grade, however, the results count. They ERB results are used to compare and advise schools' academic curriculum choices: both successes and failures. The scrores may also be used if you apply your child out to a different school (depending on tyhe school and the grade). Just treat it as any other test day and dont stress your child out over it. The school should have a meeting/coffee wher the administrators go over the results with parents and answer questions.
