| My kids are 5(boy) and 7(girl). Just curious if your 5 and 7 year old enjoyed the movie. Is it for an older audience? |
| I think they will. I took my three year old and she enjoyed it. Some of the content went over her head, but she is still talking about the movie. |
| 5 and 3 yr old both enjoyed it. They liked different things about it, but both had a good time and are still talking about it a week later. |
|
Kids will be ok. A few scary parts that they quickly move through.
I wouldn't say my kids loved it. My 5 yo didn't even really understood it that much. My 8 year old I think got some of it. I feel like it is geared towards the older crowd, even adults, really. |
|
My 18 year old and I really enjoyed it. I do feel that a lot of the humor is aimed at older kids and adults, but little ones can enjoy it, too.

Read this before you go. It's really for parents.

| My 5 year old seemed to like it ok but I don't think she understood the message. The rest of us (grownups) loved it. |

Very typical Pixar production since it has something to appeal to all ages. Young children will like the action while older children and adults will get the message. Adults will feel reflective of their own lives. I liked it very much.
As a school administrator, there is an organization we use as a resource for educating parents and teachers (and ourselves) about the importance of emotions called the RULER Approach http://ei.yale.edu/ruler/ . Their facebook page recently promoted this article regarding looking at "Inside Out" through the eye of modern Psychology. There are spoilers at the link so I really intend it for those who've already viewed the film. Pixar's 'Inside Out' is a surprisingly accurate look at human psychology — here's what it gets right and wrong Read more: http://www.businessinsider.com/what-pixars-inside-out-gets-right-and-wrong-about-human-psychology-2015-6#ixzz3ewsDtg7e |
| My six year old loved it! |
| they may be slightly too young. i took my 10 and 11 yo kids and they loved it! however, i don't know they would have enjoyed it as much if they were younger. |
| My 7 & 8 year olds learned a way to talk more concretely about their emotions - relating to the specific characters in Inside Out. We saw it the day it opened and it has given us a new perspective in our dialogue. I don't think yours are too young to get something from it. And even if they don't, visually it's a wonderfully done film which by itself may keep them interested. |
Kids 8 7 and 5 loved it! Go see it! I loved it too
|
| My 8 year old loved it - and got it. He cried during the movie, something I've never seen him do before. I think he was a bit embarrassed that he cried. Our 7 year old neighbor enjoyed it as well, but I think he didn't "get" the more intense emotional parts, which is fine. |
| My five year old liked it but u don't think understood it. There were a lot of little kids in he theater crying (during scary parts). I'm not sure how old they were but I saw some kids leaving too. Might be worth it to read a review beforehand. |
