I have a sinking suspicion that it will be a toadie to kaya whoever gets selected as principal. She wants to break the school and community after what happened this year. no way it will get to be an open-minded, independent leader that we need.

Wilson Twitter account tweeted the following yesterday:
"PTSO meeting: about 20 people interviewed 3 finalists today for next Wilson principal. Committee recommended 1 candidate unanimously."

"Final decision from @HendersonKaya will be in 2 weeks. It is hoped because unanimous recommendation that announcement will be sooner."

It was predetermined who was going to take the helm of Wilson...the formalities of this principal selection is to appease the community. The person who was chosen for Wilslon has been in consideration long before they sat before a group of randomly selected people. Principal are hired and not elected and they serve at the will of the Principal and not the public. So, this unanimous recommendation was pretty much a scripted outcome...

Is the person qualified? That is my only concern.

Didn't say that. Said a committee of 20 interviewed 3. Could have been a group presentation.

No, 20 people on the panel that conducted the interviews. Three candidates were interviewed.

DCUM is like the game "Telephone." What is said, and what people hear and then pass down the line are never the same .

Well, the panel of 20 thought that the person was qualified. I'm curious as to what qualifications you think might be lacking?

This is the way it should be. During our principal selection it became apparent that some of the interested/invested parties expected to be much more of a part of candidate selection and decision making process. I'm glad DCPS appears to be doing this process right.

I don't see anything "right" about a scripted outcome! Why shouldn't parent, teachers, etc. be involved??

just out of curiosity, and to better understand the process: who are the 20 people (not names obviously) and how and by whom were they selected?

Don't assume the recommended candidate was/is a KH sycophant. As stated above, there were 20 candidates (that is quite a lot) and the recommendation was unanimous. If all 20 were disliked, the committee could have recommended "no selection" and waited another year, which has happened before.

Come on Jeff, spill the beans....who is the candidate?
