Do you feel it's an insult that Trump thinks you're stupid enough to believe his lies?

Exactly. It’s hard to believe the learning curve is so steep with these morons but I can’t say I’m surprised.

All that matters is Election Day. You don’t like being told you’re complicit in evil, stay off dcum. -np

Ok, drama queen. And actually, saying we’re “complicit in evil” doesn’t bother me - it amuses me. And only works against you, so there’s that. Have a great day!

Works against me/us? If you think arguments on dcum have any impact on anything real you’re even stupider than I thought.

The second one is worse.

+ a million

The second wasn’t a malignant lie for nefarious purposes.

The first is to rile up the basest feelings in supporters.

It sure was!

The fundamental lesson which I still don't think Democrats have learned is that if one nominates a candidate - who is absolutely unpalatable - there are some who will just not vote for her. It does not mean they will vote for her opponent.

Yes, I have heard the argument that not voting is impliedly voting for Trump. I don't buy that argument any more than a Republican who does not vote for Trump is impliedly voting for Hillary.

It is the lesson to be learned for 2020; any candidate nominated must have broad support especially within the party.

Clearly a problem only the Democrats have. The GOP could nominate a lying, racist, pussy grabbing criminal with direct ties to Vladimir Putin and the party would blindly fall in line behind him.

Thing is -- Hillary won 3 million more votes that that moron.

Turnout is our real problem. The lesson for 2020 is to vote, period.

Trump supporters, do you not feel demeaned that he lies outright to your face? That he obviously thinks you're stupid enough to believe his lies, how is that not an insult? What would you do if someone close to you lied this much to you, would you give them a pass because you loved them? Do you yourself lie this much to others? Inquiring minds want to know.

https://www.nytimes.com/2018/10/31/us/politics/fact-check-trump-distortion-campaign.html

In the past couple of weeks alone, the president has spoken of riots that have not happened, claimed deals that have not been reached, cited jobs that have not been created and spun dark conspiracies that have no apparent basis in reality. He has pulled figures seemingly out of thin air, rewritten history and contradicted his own past comments.

The catalog of inaccurate claims ranges from the weighty to the head-scratching.

He has asserted that construction has begun on his border wall (it has not), that he is one of the most popular American presidents in history (he is not), that he “always” opposed the Iraq war (he did not), that the stock market reopened the day after the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001 (it did not), that his tax cut was the largest in history (it was not) and that the United States is the only country that guarantees citizenship to those born here (it is not).

As he embarks on a final eight-state, 11-rally blitz before Tuesday’s midterm elections, Mr. Trump has hammered Democrats — not just for their actual policy positions but for some they have not taken. He accused them, without proof, of helping to orchestrate a caravan of Central American migrants; complained that Democrats had opposed opioid legislation when in fact they universally voted for it; and asserted that they would not protect patients with pre-existing conditions — even though that was the heart of President Barack Obama’s health care program.

You're barking up the wrong tree, OP. Trump's supporters don't believe his lies; they accept them. It's an important distinction.

And why do they accept them? Because "it annoys the Libs." That's all they need, and that's all we need to know what kind of people they are.

+1000
Why waste your tune on them, OP?

His fans just truly hate Pelosi, Schumer, Sanders, and Warren. I hate them too but I hate Trump more.

If Dems really want to win, they should wear some swastikas and go around grabbing conservative pussy. Then they might stand a chance of winning. Duh.

LOL, are you just admitting here that your ideas and thoughts expressed here on DCUM has no basis in reality? I wholeheartedly agree!!!

With Trump, I barely covered September.

LOL, it would seem that if Trump came out and said "I like the color Blue", CNN would be tripping over themselves to come up with a special fact-check segment showing just how many times Trump wore a red tie, with the result of "Mostly False".

I wish there was a republican challenger in 2020, but I won't lose any sleep if Trump gets another 4 years.

Hello "Mr. or Ms. Ends Justify the Means". Is this your philosophy in all you do? Is it okay if a kid bullies your child's classmate as long as they leave your kid alone? Is it okay if your boss discriminates or harasses women at work as long as you are unaffected? You good with children--or more accurately brown or tan children--being put in cages and taken from their parents? I have not seen any white children being taken from their parents and placed in cages although they come here too. I have realized that is what guides a number of people who shrug Trump's lies and treatment of certain groups of people. BTW--you say you are a conservative but no true conservative would be okay with the tax cut that transferred wealth to the wealthiest by ballooning the debt. No true conservative would be okay with sending our soldiers to our border where they are not needed or at a minimum in the numbers they are being sent. It costs a lot of money to do that and it is incredibly wasteful.

Translation: I am all for the Ethno-Christian State trump is creating because tax cuts.

and supreme court. Can't forget that.

My skin just crawls reading answers like the first-quoted PP. Won't lose any sleep. Trump is "clearly superior". No grasp of real issues. No soul.

That's the problem with Democrats... disagree with me? why that must mean you are a evil person, or have no soul. You sad, sad, person.

And how exactly should we react to people who proudly proclaim they're perfectly happy to be fed lies and sleaze and the undermining of democratic institutions as long as they get what they want out of it? To me, that is the thinking of a sociopath.

Oh look, the ol' "If you like your doctor" line. The exact same line the right trots out every time they want to claim Republicans don't have a monopoly on dishonesty. Why is that? Why always that one, single line? Could it be because that's all they can come up with?

Compare to 6,420 lies told by Trump since his inauguration, per this morning's Washington Post.

Go to English class again so that you can learn one more time that "I feel insulted" and "not my first choice" are not the same thing as "perfectly happy", a distinction that even kindergartners know. Learn the meaning of words before you insult other people and accuse them of being a sociopath.

Given how your reply contains zero substantive argument, I'd say yes it was highly effective.
