For me:

-Adoption (that goes doubly for international adoption)
-Interracial marriage

Why interracial marriage? It is accepted in most (all?) religions. Is it a cultural pride thing (you know, like the Klan or the Panthers - mostly kidding)?

OP here. Doesn't matter. I'm against it and feel that it creates more discord than harmony.

OP here. I'm against adoption because of the corrupt system and how it all really boils down to baby-selling to the highest bidder.

are you an adult adoptee?

Yes, there is corruption, but there are also a lot of ethical international adoptions. No one sold my child- they placed for adoption because they had an affair and neither one of them could raise the child while married to other people, and certainly not in the country of origin. Societal norms, and all...just like in the US, it would be very doubtful a couple would choose to raise a child who resulted from one of their affairs.

But it still benefits the child, does it not?

Based on some adult adoptees, I'm not sure. I question parents who want to be parents, but *only* to children who fit their specifications. The idea of picking a special little Chinese/Korean/Indian baby is grotesque to me (especially when there's no true way in knowing the circumstances in giving up the child).

This thread is about opinions you *don't* share, so not seeing what is so selfish about it.

Omg yes! My sil was about to nominate me for worst mom of the year when she caught my toddler eating a goldfish off the floor. We were in my own kitchen for crying out loud. She was literally cringing and screaming NOOOOO. What a freakin wack-a-doodle.

If you think it "creates" discord, you might want to consider whether you are incredibly racist deep-down and believe there are inherent differences between the races that cannot be overcome in the same way that, say, different views on politics can.

Sure they can be overcome; my point is that it creates discord.

Can I tell you something? When you are an inexperienced cook, even when you follow a recipe religiously, your food often flops.
