DD thinks she’s better than everyone

Anonymous
It's better she vent at home than post it on sm. OP is not obligated to try to change DD's personality or attitude, but needs to make sure DD knows how to stay out of trouble.

No they're not.

Oh please. Nearly all of DCUM is like this- because it’s anonymous.

As long as your daughter isn’t expressing these sentiments in public or with anyone other than you and spouse, I’d let it go. Just don’t affirm these things, ignore

E.g. "Larla has such disgusting eyebrows"
You "Yeah, she should go to the person who waxed your's" or "I wonder what Larla is saying to her mom about your flat a$$"

Your her mom, you will know what cuts her down

If you can't think of anything, "Wow, that was a really b----- thing to say"

If she wants to to engage in frat house talk, she can take it too.

This is psychotic advice. WTF is wrong with you?

Well, one of the things wrong with me won't be a snotty teen daughter, I can tell you that, my husband has an even quicker wit than me!

Girlie needs to hear what these nasty little quips sound like and decide if she truly wants to be the big bad alpha B. And maybe she does! Maybe she'll hold her own with the frat boy douche bags in the C suite. Hope she can cash the checks her mouth writes and she is as good as she thinks she is.

I don't think you should fret too much. What you said sounds shocking but she is so young and will learn some hard lessons later. Most people toot their own horn at times and look down on others for many reasons including how unempathetic others are and how kind they themselves are. Some kids have nicer hair, clearer skin, taller, thinner, less allergies, less learning disabilities, social awareness, creativity, quick wit, sense of humor, athleticism, story telling, approachability, relatability, easy going, endless energy, calm demeanor.... some things are less acceptable to brag about in our culture but it doesn't mean someone who is more beautiful should be humbled and a smarter kid praised. Op should be grateful her dd is so open with her as a sounding board and accept her blessing.
