TJ Notice - How safe do other TJ parents feel?

The abundance of caution today was one extra SRO. No active police presence or patrolling.

Don’t forget the efforts of the FCPS security team providing electronic surveillance!

For real?

Yeah sure, they called in a handwriting expert and CSI team for graffiti.

+1. No self-respecting school shooter gives notice. They show up in a trench coat at lunchtime and leave a manifesto in their bedroom.

Consider the situation from a student's point of view. They have witnessed a mentally unstable student message about shooting, and were told by principal last evening, they could stay back home today if they do not feel safe, which most did. It is now principal's basic responsibility to provide clarity in communication how she has mitigated the threat and ensures students will be returning to a safe environment on Monday. As of now, she has failed to do so.

Bonitatibus appears to be nothing more than a pencil pusher. Even mediocre leaders show their worth in times of crisis, yet this principal hides behind vague emails.

Hopefully there's clearer communication today.

It has been two full days since the threatening message was discovered. What's the status of the graffiti student? identified and receiving help?

from latest principal email sent on Friday 4pm:

" ... There is still an active investigation into this matter. While that may be unsettling, law enforcement and security officials do not believe that there is an ongoing threat. We will continue with normal operations on Monday. ..."

Not helpful in anyway and how does this in anyway mean kids are safe

Totally agree. What measures will be in place on Monday while the active investigation continues? Sounds like NOTHING. Even the +1 police offer is even gone.

Principal is doing a poor job with communication. Staying tight lipped doesn't help build confidence. She needs to share details on how they concluded the situation to be low risk.

Has the principal announced whether they caught the student who did this or not?

Do they at least have a definite list of suspects at this point?
