Are there any genuinely normal, well-adjusted celebrities

Anonymous
Going to add Stephen Colbert. I went to the same university at the same time though we didn't ever meet there. But I know people who knew him in the years post-college and who still know him now, and they say he's thoughtful, intelligent, genuinely nice. And his marriage, kids and religion ground him in a big way. I think it helps when celebrites, comedians or actors have solid marriages or partnerships with people who have known them a long time--since before fame.

What?!? She is the biggest media whore around. Anyone who spends as much time as her on instagram, morning shows, and her other mediocre projects has issues.

Why? Maybe she enjoys her career.

You mean the attention. Not a bad thing, and I like jennifer but i wouldn't consider her well adjusted because of it. I do think she's one of the nicer celebs

Lol, no. But it's a testament to her and her publicity team that you think this.

please do go on

There is no way that Jennifer Garner is not weird in the way most very famous people are weird. It's not a personal insult to her. She does a good job of working her natural charm and "folksy" manner to seem down to earth, but I guarantee if she showed up in your office tomorrow, or you saw her in the grocery store, she would seem strange to you. She has lived an extremely not normal life, including being married to Affleck and going through a super public and terrible divorce, so it's unlikely she is "normal" in the way OP means.

But yes, it's impressive that she can still convince people that she's the lady next door. She is very good in that role. But it's a role.

There is one poster on here who has some super weird hatred of JG but it's all just stuff made up in her head. There are several people who over the years have posted that they actually know her IRL and she's a nice, normal person.

This. For sure.

My friend met Mark Ruffalo recently and he said he was super nice. It was a random interaction and my friend started to kind of back off because he didn't want to bother him but MR was down to keep the convo going and was very friendly.

He seems like a nice guy without crazy issues.

I've only posted once about JG on DCUM in my life. I think the opposite is true - there is some sock puppeting going on about the love for her. Her and her publicist have worked magic.

Jeff Daniels still lives in the small town where he grew up, not far from Ann Arbor.

Steve carell strikes me as another.

Rachel Weisz and Daniel Craig.

I met Steve Carell before he was famous, and he was very nice. I've heard some people have found him standoffish, but I think he might be shy.

The problem with finding "genuinely normal, well-adjusted" people is who is doing the judging of what is normal and well-adjusted? Like in this example, some rando can say a person is standoffish, but the celebrity may have been shy, or having a bad day, or was in "civilian mode" while approached and not ready for a random interaction. Usually those details are left out by the person saying a celebrity was standoffish.

In fact, it is. Do tell.

Agreed, which is amazing considering not only her acting celebrity but coming from wealth.

I'll add Paul Rudd.

It’s like running for president—the kind of person who thinks they should rule over everyone else isn’t well adjusted with good values. The megalomaniacs, narcissists, borderline personalities, and pathologically avaricious among us do better in the limelight. You don’t want those people hanging around the office and they typically cause chaos in normal settings. The well regulated, securely attached, high values people of the world do better in private and mundane pursuits. Both types of people have their place in the world.

And, given the U.S. infatuation with fame, a celebrity may quickly coddled, privileged and people hang on their word. I suspect it came make it difficult to stay grounded and normal when you become accustomed to everyone listening to you speak and told yes a lot.
