Didn't even need to read the article to know the owners of #1 were Italian, lol.

Could have been Iranian also. Have seen many houses like this in LA.

I love the DC house! Terrific antique wood pieces!

Makes me want to paint all my walls a warm white and paint the interior doors blue. M

I hate the blue doors.

I agree. I want a basketball court.

At the bottom of the About This Home
"Single-family
Built in 1937, renovated in 1998"

The ceilings are amazing and I'd have some date nights in that wine cellar but the estate would need a house manager and I'm not up for all that

Same.

Potomac for sure but I’m not a DC person.

If given my choice of any house, I’m choosing this estate:

So back when this was for sale the first time, the price was 5 mil. I told my husband that it was overpriced and should list about 3 mil and they will probably get less. Said we should wait and make an offer. Sure enough, price drops to 3.2 mil (I think it went off the market for a bit) and sold for 2.8. We could have sold our current home and adjacent lot and paid cash. Husband is in tech and really could have used that office space for his business. Parents could have moved to that 2nd home on property and replenished their cash. Sister could have moved as well, into the separate wing of the home that has its own kitchen, etc. I’ve been in the home and it’s stunning.

I’m still pissed off at my husband for never taking me seriously re: these things. Ugh. First thing I’m doing if I win the lottery is making an offer on that house!

Oh my lord the second listing -- a "perineal" garden. I can't even.

The first one probably would need 1-2M to redecorate it

DCUM does not disappoint on the racism, damn! (Does not matter if neither is formally considered a race).
