I am waiting for my colonoscopy today and learned that the chicken broth I had this morning mid prep (ie around 5 hours before my appointment) was not allowed. Veggie broth would have been fine, but they don’t consider chicken broth clear broth (even though it wasn’t specifically prohibited on the instructions). So now I have to wait an additional 2 hours. |
This thread is incredibly helpful and confusing at the same time. |
Yes, its appearance was timely for me! |
You should not have copped to the chicken broth. |
Maybe. But it was the anesthesiologist who was concerned, not the gastroenterologist — the issue was it might have fats that could have been aspirated. Given my history of acid reflux, probably better to be careful in that case. Just made for a very long day. |
The Cleveland Clinic website says gummy bears are OK - no red, blue or purple. My doc has decided no breakfast the day before, so something to chew will be very helpful. |
This and I usually get several large bowls of Matzo ball soup from Parkway Deli, which I strain and just drink the brother, so delicious! I save the rest of the soup ingredients to indulge on after my procedure. Works every time (sixth colonoscopy, family history). |
I ate a ton of clear gummy bears. Plain bagel too. Bone broth.
I was incredibly clean, perfect prep according to doctor. I read they found some solids like plain bagel in 24 hours actually resulted clearer prep. |
A bagel?
Gummy bears don’t dissolve quickly. |
