My nephew received one. I believe it has to do with scoring 99 or maybe 98% on the entrance exam.

My son was a Presidential Scholar at Gonzaga (class of 2014), it included a $2,000 scholarship each year and he was recognized as a Presidential Scholar at graduation and could use it for college application purposes. I believe it is based on test scores and grades, approximately 20 kids are awarded this out of a class of 240.

Interesting - the amounts must vary because my nephew received a larger amount per year for that particular award.

My son has applied to Gonzaga and he had a 99% HSPT and all A's and one high B (in history)...so if he doesn't get the scholar award...maybe he will at least get accepted. That is all we want!! Scholar Award would be a bonus
