Toddler reached into her purse to get her Iphone and found her handgun instead. Fortunately, no one died.

See, this shit happens more often than concealed weapons are actually used for protection. They are lucky not to be dead.
But, hey, it was just an "accident" |
| Why did the three year old have her own purse with an iPhone anyway? |
| The part of the story that made me sad was that they were living in a motel room. |
| This happens all the time. And yet the idiot parents still think they have loaded guns for their protection. Insanity. |
|
Well, you know, at any moment some psycho might break down your locked door and want to rape and kill your family. Because it did happen that one time...
Reminds me of that movie Johnny Dangerously. ONCE

I sure did! Here's the right one: http://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-31082294 |
| The saddest thing is that these stupid people reproduce. They literally dodged a bullet b/c they both could have ended up dead along with the unborn baby. |
|
Were they living there or just visiting?
And are these all their kids? Sorry, I always wonder these things... |
| If the gun nuts didn't get it after Newtown (and apparently they didn't) they sure ain't gonna get it now. |

I have come to the conclusion that the most practical way to prevent gun deaths is:
1. Make strict laws regarding storage of handguns, including proof of gun safe and penalties for noncompliance, 2. Make the gun purchaser partially responsible for any crime committed with their gun, unless it has been sold and transfer documented to the government at the time of sale, or unless it is stolen and a police report filed. My reasons: The biggest cause of accidental gun deaths or child suicides is a poorly stored weapon, and the entry point of guns into criminal hands is owners who lose/sell/straw purchase guns. |
| IQ tests for gun ownership. Only possible solution. |
| If only there was a good guy with a gun in the room. Someone should have armed the two year old. |
| How do we know the 3 year old wasn't using it for self defense? Maybe the parents worked for the tyrannical government, and the 3 year old was part of a well regulated militia? |
