Contractor Discount at Ferguson Plumbing

Anonymous
Does anyone know how much the contractor discount at Ferguson plumbing is? Will they match a price if I can find something at a lower price online? If I ask them to match online pricing for some of the items I want, will they still give my contractor a discount? TIA!

I think the general idea behind contractor pricing is that you have to be a contractor ?

You do realize you are more work than a plumber for them. A plumber comes in, knows what he wants, order all the ancillary pieces, know he will pay a re-stocking fee, etc.

You are a retail customer - why should they service you as a wholesale account ?

+1

This is some real entitlement right here. I want a discount "just because."

My contractor told me to mention his name and account at Ferguson's and to ask for the same price. I did mention my contractor, but I also brought in online coupons. They matched the Blanco sink and faucet to the online price. Nice of them.

Yeah, I'm so sick of people with their contractor price entitlement. So dumb.

Like there's so much more cost for dealing with a DIY who knows what they need. There's should a higher price if you're just going in for a part. If you don't want to deal with DIYers than don't take returns. Do do any business with them. But methinks it's just bad business to charge twice (yes I've seen it) when you know dude will just go somewhere else. I'm doing this right now. 300 for 150 part. Bold choice. See how much money it makes you sitting on the shelf. Surely you're not losing if the computer jockey takes 15 minutes to help. (20 bucks an hour x.25 really cutting into your margin?)

It’s normal to buy using your contractor’s account. They coordinate with your contractor account to confirm the discount should pass to you (or if the contractor is charging you full price and keeping the difference with a discount as profit).

Discounts depend on the manufacturer and product. It’s not across the board.

This board should have a warning when people are about to revive old threads. Some dude seemed to have stumbled on a 10 year old thread and got really worked up.
