Do you have any interests/talents that you keep hidden from your friends and family?

If so, what are they and why do you keep them hidden?

I don't tell my friends here that I nearly completed my Master of Arts from Harvard before I left Cambridge and moved here for my husband's job.

I'm a bit of a dilettante, but most of my friends don't know I'm actually a very good dancer, draughtsman, and was an athlete.

I have an opposite-of-a-talent: I try to hide how stupid I am. I don't know what two of the above words mean.

I am an eloquent writer and do not let any of my family know because I am secretly working on the next "Great American Novel" and am going to expose all of their secrets and then some!

I love to watch "Judge Judy" but other than a couple of family members no one knows this.

I wrote two books in my early 20's (commercially published--they are on amazon and in Barnes and Noble, I receive royalties, etc.). I have no writers in the family but figured out how to get a publisher on my own while in college. The first book was published when I was 23 and the second when I was 25.

The reason I have never told any friends about it (family knows and is proud of me) is because when I was 27 I got a contract for a third book. After writing the entire book the publisher decided not to publish it. I was heartbroken and never wrote another word since. My self esteem was crushed and has never recovered and I have never discussed my career as a writer with anyone since.
