I saw their online reviews and there are many complaints about false positives.
I feel very devastated already. |
OP here. Should have given a little background. I am not in to HPT. I avoid them because they always came out negative when I tried and I went in to depression days before nurses gave out the bad news. So, I stopped testing at home long time back. This time (my seventh IVF) I wanted to test beforehand, so I bought CVS brand. But online reviews are saying that faint positives from the test are FALSE. That's why I asked that question since I got a light colored line in the morning. Never been pregnant before and not much experience with home testing. |
If it's blue, sorry, don't trust it. Get thee another (pink) test ASAP! |
I had a false faint positive with a target up and up blue dye test last month. I was so mad! Definitely only use pink tests and only FRER if you can swing the $$$. I got a faint pink test this month and I am in fact pregnant. I wish those stupid blue tests would be discontinued already! |
Are the Wondfo test strips (the cheap ones) reliable? |
OP here.
Is this FRER? I brought this and it has 2 tests in it. Cost was around $20. I haven't tried this yet. Please let me know if this is FRER. http://www.amazon.com/First-Response-Result-Pregnancy-Packaging/dp/B000052XHI/ref=sr_1_1?s=hpc&ie=UTF8&qid=1410460134&sr=1-1&keywords=1+pregnancy+test I tried this from CVS brand which gave a light line this morning: http://www.cvs.com/shop/product-detail/CVS-Early-Results-Pregnancy-Test?skuId=430757 What are your reviews for the above two? In the past, I have used the cheap tests (they look like strips of paper and you have to dip in a cup with urine). It showed positive and blood showed negative. My RE very coolly said the test could be flawed or it could be a chemical pregnancy. I am so damn freakin out. |
Yes, those are the FRERs. I recommend only those. Good luck! |
Thanks! |
There is no such thing as a false positive unless you have injected HCG into your body. If you got a line, them you were pregnant. There could have been a very early miscarriage or a chemical pregnancy, but there was a pregnancy. |
Agree FRERs are very reliable. Good luck OP. |
OP, I hope you are indeed pregnant. If not though, for future reference don't give up on the cheap tests! With both of my pregnancies, I used pregnancy tests I bought at Shoppers for $1.00. They worked fine--I never got a false negative or positive. |
No this isn't the case with blue dye tests. They're very prone to having faint blue lines, especially if you look at it after the time limit whereas frer has never given me an evap after the time limit. |
OP here. Thanks all. I am still debating whether to take test on FRER tomorrow or wait for results from RE. I feel I have lost courage after too many failures. |
What is the range of hcg level when the lines appear lighter in shades? |
How many tests did you try? One false positive, ok. But more than one, I say congrats you are pregnant. |
