And Chuck Grassley goes to blame Democrats for the new allegations...

https://thehill.com/business-a-lobbying/408033-grassley-panel-will-attempt-to-evaluate-new-kavanaugh-allegations

Grassley in a statement slammed Democrats for "withholding information" regarding the allegations.

"Yet again, Senate Democrats actively withheld information from the rest of the Committee only to drop information at politically opportune moments," Grassley said, doubling down on his remarks that Democrats withheld the first allegation against Kavanaugh from Christine Blasey Ford, who went public last week.

He said the Democrats appear to be "more interested in a political takedown" than "pursuing allegations through a bipartisan and professional" investigation.

I do not know whether to laugh or cry?

Who was suppose to vet this creep? And who did the hold off hearing on one of the most qualified Judges nominated to SC just for political reason? Who is holding records on this unfit nominee secret from their Democrats colleageues?

I just do not know what to think of these entitled republicans leaders. They act in bad faith every time and they expect perfect courtesy? Is this a white privilege thing?

Mr. white privilege will end up just fine-with plenty of money to spend and no jail time. If he were black he would have been imprisoned long ago, but white and rich? Nah...just a good old asshole boy doin his white privilege thang with his thang.

I hear you but he has no money, he has virtually nothing to show for his prep school and Yale degree . A loser in every sense of the word .

How does he have no money? What does his judgeship pay? Does his wife work?

Yup, it is sickening to read the Avenatti email. I cannot belief that there are supposedly well educated people who behaved like animals and got away with it because of position and power of their parents.

What's telling, too, is not just the attitude towards women that these alleged actions betray. If true, it shows that these supposedly elite men are incredibly insecure and will basically do anything to appease the alpha male "leaders," including treating women like trash just to prove that they aren't at the bottom of the hierarchy. I pity anyone who behaves like this. Going along with the herd, always having to please and prove yourself -- even if it means forcing yourself on a woman who's blackout drunk when you're too drunk to feel anything, or pulling out your penis and shoving it at someone. So pathetic. And incredibly sad that Americans don't have the moral fiber to demand better from their leaders.

I saw that, too. So much deep unhappiness, by the boys and the girls.

Not a psychologist, but I'm guessing that if K did this but is still denying it, he is deeply in denial and the self-righteousness of his denials comes from the part of him actually believes he has been victimized. But the point is that, if that's true, he allowed himself to be victimized and did not stand up against this; he felt he had to go along to get what he wanted out of this social circle. I always wonder about people like this. What does it take for their little world to come crashing down? Does being this dependent on what others think just eat you up at night?

Not a therapist, not playing one on he internet: how depressing and unsurprising that he plays Hero Coach to All Girls in his visibly personal life, and married lateish for his generation and social set, to a bland, Chico’s and Loft type life partner, after a decade or more of blackout binges and running trains. Madonna and whore issues are as expected for his type as a closet full of Dockers.

The drinking is the root of the problem. I'm surprised there hasn't been more concern about it. Oh, wait—most of you reading this are already on your 2nd or 3rd glass of wine, amiright?

I don’t drink.

I guess someone with a Georgetown Prep yearbook just needs to make a list of the guys who cited "the Devil's Triangle" in their senior profiles. Whelan's alternative suspect mentioned it. https://talkingpointsmemo.com/edblog/whelan-nutbar-twitter-thread-preserved-for-posterity

Whole thread about this in the Money and Finance forum. Agreement seems to be that he is no different from many in the area--more house than he can actually afford and low savings rate owing to living beyond his true means.

Please. There's a reason Gorsuch, Roberts, etc. didn't have to fend off these sorts of unsavory allegations. It's because they're not unsavory people.

I have no doubt they have skeletons in their closets too. Almost everyone does.
Except for maybe my niece who entered a convent at age 18. I guess we could start looking for Supreme Court justices therebut they’d definitely be anti Roe v. wade.

Honestly, it’s scary and appalling that you are normalizing sexual assault. Decidedly “not everybody” has done it. If it’s normative in your crowd I suggest new friends.

Yup. I doubt Ruth Bader Ginsburg every sexually harassed anyone.

Good for you—me neither (although I used to). So, why do you think there's so little discussion about drinking being the problem?

Right. Drinking, gambling, too much house and two kids in private schools, mysterious eleventh hour debt relief. WTF were he and his supporters thinking.

He sounds like less a drunk than a youthful binge drinker. Not so uncommon among those in college even today.

And per the NYer story, they *did* know. Grassley is f*cking gaslighting the Dems and all of us.
