Help homeless kids with back to school shopping

For those of you wondering how you could help kids living in the DC general shelter, here's a small way to make their daily lives a bit easier. Post here if you buy anything; let's see if the DCUM community can fulfill their whole woshlist!

I bought some toiletries and uniforms for the big kids - it's so fun to buy for the little kids, but the BIG kids need uniforms too!

If you don't live on the Hill here is another organization that has done great with downtown and throughout DC. They also have drop off locations in VA and MD.

I bought some toilet paper (amazing that the shelter doesnt provide that) and some 4 uniform tops and bottoms.

For those who would like to help in MoCo, please look at A Wider Circle they have a backpack school supply drive in August. They are an absolutely terrific organization that really does tremendous things to support the community. Awidercircle.org

I purchased some uniform shirts. Kids are kids. Whether they are documented or not, they should go to school.
