Remember when 38-year-old Jerry Seinfeld dated a 17-year-old high schooler?

He's full of it.

How I Met Your Mother, Modern Family, and Big Bang Theory were massively popular sitcoms over the past decade.

What he's really doing is lamenting the fall of the mass market sitcom. The main broadcast stations have totally dumped sitcoms. CBS currently has only THREE sitcoms in its current spring lineup and 20+ crime/police/legal procedural shows. ABC may actually have more sitcoms this spring, which is really shocking.

For whatever reason, 22 minute sitcoms are not translating onto streaming platforms. There's lots of niche comedy series doing well, but a bit more avant garde sketch comedy (Eric Andre, Tim Anderson), stand-up comedy specials, or dark drama-comedies (White Lotus, Palm Royale, etc.) I don't consider any of this content to be overly "PC" or "woke." Anyone trying to convince me that Eric Andre is woke or too PC is insane lol

Reading between the lines:

He really did not like this final season of Curb Your Enthusiasm, but doesn't have the guts to say it to Larry David's face.

Is there a word for this kind of man?

Right????

Woody Allen married his daughter. It was consensual, it's creepy.

Also allegedly groomed her for literally years while she was a pre-teen and teen. The power imbalance still exists and she’s basically consenting in the way that an abused woman remains in an abusive relationship. “Why doesn’t she just leave? —right??

I predict that when he dies, we will eventually read the tragedy of it in her tell-all that “everyone saw…everyone knew and yet no one helped me”…and she would be right.
The powerful men who perpetrate are very, very rarely held to account. Yes, she is of consenting age NOW. But what exactly is her agency? She was groomed to believe she loved him, and so she does. She has been led to believe that love is your mother’s long-term boyfriend (who you knew as a father figure) choosing you over your mom, and secretly waiting until you are 18 to “run away” with you. How….romantic? And how traumatic for the rest of the siblings!
The media and powerful elite prop up these men and pretend it’s normal and fine…and even a “love story” when it’s just a predator being predatory in plain sight. But it’s not a love story to me. It’s a story of power (and abuse of it), manipulation, and lack of accountability.
I pity her. But because her words say “I’m fine and in love” no one will help her escape and he knows it.

What a terrible thing!

Chris D'Elia played a comedian who took advantage of young girls on the show You....

And then that ended up being true of the actor.

What are the odds!!? Pretty good apparently.

Try to wrap your mind around how widespread and creepy it is what men in power do.

Comedian Jeff Ross was allegedly obsessed with Seinfeld for this relationship...

‘He Liked That I Was Innocent’ Jessica Radtke met Jeff Ross at a comedy club at 15. Soon after, she alleges, they began a sexual relationship.

And yet he married an ordinary looking 30 yo woman and has apparently been faithful to her.

Well he did get blowback from dating Shoshanna and seemed to get it out of his system. Jessica was willing to dump her newlywed husband for Jerry and this seemed reasonable to him too. She's odd herself, so maybe his ideal pairing was with someone else looking out for #1??
