We are remodeling two upstairs bathrooms (30 y.o. Builder grade toilets) and in need of new toilets. Looking for something that wastes less water, flushes clean, and is quiet. TIA |
Toto toilets. |
Both our toilets are Toto. I absolutely hate them. They break constantly and it is so hard to find replacement parts. Literally, in the 7 years we have lived in our high-end condo, the toilets have probably only actually worked properly about 8 months total. |
I'm a Toto fan |
Toto all the way!
We have the Aquia II dual-flush and are quite fond of it. It never clogs. |
We've had good luck with Kohler Cimmaron Comfort Height |
We have four bathrooms. All four now have Kohler toilets. The two that weren't Kohlers were just not good. Clogged easily (led to lots of accusations of excessive toilet paper use ), etc. No problems at all with the Kohlers.

American Standard Cadet. Inexpensive, effective, water efficient, clean lines. |
Absolutely HATE "comfort" height. I'm short and my feet dangle. I would rip that out in a second. |
Another vote for Toto. |
Several years ago, we put a Kohler Cimarron toilet in the bathroom my teens share, and it hasn't clogged once! That's quite a testimonial, if you know how teen boys are.
|
And to me the older, low to the ground toilets seem...well, very low to the ground. Not saying that the short toilets are bad but I'm mid height (others in my family are tall) and the comfort height is...more comfortable for us. |
I purchased mine based on the recommendation of a mom with 4 teen boys, lol. I've got two myself. |
That's a long time not to be taking a dump |
another bad experience with toto. eventually they fixed the one (it made dripping noises) but it took years of complaining and "try this, try that".
i like the comfort height. never will go back to standard height. i also like the one piece. i recommend kohler. |
