NDI homes?

Has any of you used them? How was the experience? Is the quality really builder grade, or can you customize it a little?

Pls do a search and read others experiences. We looks at them and liked the low cost but yes very builders grade. And hugely expensive to upgrade. I was less than impressed with the bones of their designs. Ended up hiring my own engineer and hvac expert to basically adapt their design. Exterior styling is really good IMO.

In most markets outside of the dc area they would be considered luxury not builder grade.

This is relevant how?

And I think you meant "in other markets that aren't affluent" because it would be considered builder grade in plenty of other affluent areas.

We looked at them. I found their thing is to do very builder grade materials at low cost and then grossly mark up the decent stuff.

If you don't mind a house that looks like it was built from the home depot and ikea scratch and dent pile, you can't beat them.

If you want something that looks like Sandy Spring or Case or in any way customized and higher end, I don't think NDI are necessarily the best choice.

I don't have experience with building the NDI homes, but I've toured several to purchase (resales) and I have loved them. They are every bit as nice as the other homes for sale. Maybe the other posters are looking at much more expensive homes? They compare very nicely with the under 1 million dollar range. I like their floorplans a lot too.

First off that's stupid, no one is buying off the home depot ikea scratch and dent pile. You can review the materials they use on their website.

I know for a fact Sandy Spring uses modular homes and basically dresses them up nicely reaping massive amounts of profit. They are smoke and mirrors and it seems you drank their kool aide.

We get it, you over paid for your house and want it to stand out from NDI homes. It's ok we understand the difference between ceramic and marble tile.

I want something that looks like Sandy Spring or Case but is a steip up from NDI. Which builders would those be?

You can ask any builder to upgrade the finishings and materials (including NDI).

Also check out ANV group. http://www.anvgroup.com/

I personally would go with Sekas but they are a bit expensive http://www.sekashomes.com/

I'd also look at Focal Point Homes.

These look like Virginia builders. I'm looking for a mid-range Bethesda\Chevy Chase builder.
