Do you ever wish that God would show himself at least once?

It would help so many people who feel lost

God has shown himself, in the person of Jesus Christ, and continues to do so, through the Holy Spirit. Are you really looking?
Anonymous
Yes. I would feel less naive for believing in something that may not exist. And is not proven to exist.

This is gonna be moved to the religion forum btw

Thought He does all the time by showing Himself through people.

You should feel naive.
You are like children still believing in Santa Claus.

Which god are you talking about? Zeus? Zoraster? Quetzalcoatl? Amenhotep? Baal? Gaia? Ra? Horus? Inanna? Ishtar? Lakshmi? There are literally tens of thousands of gods. Please specify.

Though I do understand OP's question, a lot people do not know how to hear and receive from God.
But He says to 'prove me', ask Him to come into your life and be open to recognizing Him.
It will not be a lightening bolt if that is what you are looking for.

I agree with this. I have seen God's works and with that I feel that I have seen God. But to answer OPs question.. yes! I would love to see him.

I think that is why people see his image in toast, tree trunks, frying pans (although most of these are probably staged):

Yes, my sentiments exactly. Take OP's sentence and replace God with any of the aforementioned deities. Gods are metaphors for humans to be good. But if you expect to see God, like in the bible, then you will be disappointed. Because you are waiting for fairy tale to come true. God is an idea. You can say the "God" has shown itself when you see "random act of kindness", etc.

I was in a period of mourning recently. And although I am very devout I did have those moments when I wished beyond reason that He would be more visible to give me comfort that there is a reason for it all. Of course He is present always in so many subtle and not-so-subtle ways and I cannot possibly understand everything that I see and do not see.

Faith is believing when you have no reason to, right?

I'm not a better or worse person for having faith; we're all moving through life on our own paths.

I know that life can be difficult and painful and blissful and beautiful. And in moments of quiet, I feel seeds of hope and peace and know He is there.

I a m the pp to whom you are responding.
God is not physical, what we could see of him is tooth for us in our mortal state. Rember, seeing just a glimpse of God almost killed Elijah, because God's glory is so great.
