WWYD - Liquid Plummer's snake broke off in my bathtub drain

Anonymous
I was using the snake to pull out hair that was causing the bathtub to drain slowly and the handle broke off. The stopper on the tub is like this http://www.rakuten.com/prod/kingston-brass-dtt208-tip-toe-drain-satin-nickel-finish/214943065.html?listingId=327732600&scid=pla_google_SynergyDataInc&adid=18172&gclid=CMTw3fT-rb0CFfNxOgodvhcAIQ

A "tip toe" drain and can't be easily taken out. It's draining beautifully now. What should I do? WWYD? Should I try to remove the drain to retrieve the snake and potentially make matters worse? What's the worst that can happen if I just leave the snake in there? Do I need to give up and call a plumber? What do they usually charge for something like that?

The top of the drain that screws into the pipe needs to come out. If you can take that out you shold be able to do it yoruslef but when you put it back wrap the threads with tephlon tape. It migth be hard to get out so you might need a plumber.
