Bizarre. How does a plane go from 35,000 feet in the air to undetectable? The plane was logged every minute or so - sometimes multiple times a minute. And then at 12:02, it just disappears without a trace, no distress signal. Cruising altitude is typically the safest time of a flight.

I don't know about that. Seems it would take something extremely sophisticated to shoot down a plane cruising at 35,000 feet over water. I suppose we'll find out more in the couple of days to follow, but this is certainly strang. |

Everybody on the flight was somebody's kid. Spelling out that there were children onboard just feeds the prurient nature of our interest in these stories. Adds to the horror and misery of it all. |
