Will the PG County Charter School Lottery Results be pushed back

Anonymous
Due to the inclement weather the PG County Schools are closed. Today would have been the lottery drawing for Charter Schools. Will the results for the charter lottery be pushed back you think? or will they still get the results out by the end of the month?

Maybe someone can chime in but if they have not had the drawing it will probably be on Tuesday. I thought I read they have until February 14th to conduct the drawing. So results should come out on time.

Any idea where/when this will be? A friend said that last year it was broadcast/streamed live and the results were posted online, but I can't find anything on the pg schools websites even acknowledging there is a lottery...

I agree there is more information about specialty schools but not much on charter schools. Maybe the lottery will be done school based and they will mail results by the end of the week. My co worker said when she called they told her the last week of February a link will be either on school site or pg county site to check status for charter school status for your child.

Any word out there on charter lottery, I am a parent that put in for charter schools. I do not hear from many on the forum for charter lottery so I hope this is a good thing for my son.

I'm waiting to get results from the charter school lottery as well. The PGCPS website has two different notification timelines so not sure when we will find out.

I agree the website is totally confusing. I work at a charter and yesterday our registrar said it was the absolute deadline for enrollment of siblings. They have to submit the number of open spots today so the drawing can be done, so I think end of February sounds about right for results being available.

Hopefully if anyone finds out if they will provide a link so that we can check our results next week please post it. I have until next friday to respond to my daughters school if she will return or not. Sending positive vibes to all of us in the lottery.

I have not heard about a link for the lottery but when i called a charter school today i was told that the charter schools have nothing to do with lottery it is all on the board office. They just submit how many slots they have. They will only get a list of submitted kids at end of march.

I found this link on the website...not sure if it helps but you can at least see what # your child is...I'm not sure if this is the waiting list or the order that children will receive placement. http://gis.pgcps.org/charter_lottery_results/

It looks like the results are the actual placement numbers and the number of available slots in each class determines whether you are on the wait list.

I checked the link. It says that I am #66 for imagine Andrews charter school for first grade. So does this mean basically there are 66 people in front of me that will be submitted in the lottery. Based on this number should I go ahead and send my child back to her school. The deadline for enrolling for her school is March 1. After this she is not guaranteed a spot. Any pro's out there who know what this number means.
