I third "The Station Agent!" Also, "The Visitor," "The Family Stone," "Marley And Me," "Beast Of The Southern Wild," "Pieces Of April," "Under The same Moon,"Baby Boom." (This list is so random and I just posted what hit me at the moment. I really love movies, and it sounds like you do, too. Enjoy!) Also, there is a movie with Richard Gere and his pet dog with a Japanese sounding name, and I am blanking on the name---but SO touching and sweet and enjoyable. A great documentary is called "First Position."
