I've driven past that house a few times. For a while there the porch columns looked like they were slipping off the porch at the base. It is the weirdest house ever.

That's crazy!

clearly the owners can't sell it, are underwater, and are trying to have it conveniently burn down.

That house was put together with the most shoddy workmanship ever. I feel sorry if it ever gets sold.

The builder/owner should declare bankruptcy and go to jail for arson. The house should be torn down.

The house is way over priced, how much insurance did they get originally? Why would they be under water if they already received a payout.

It's in Falls Church/22043, not McLean. The rumor is that the friends of the first arsonist, who died a few years later, keep torching the place in his memory. Kind of makes it a hard sell.

McLean is a block away and the schools are the same. Not much difference.

Well, no. You could go several blocks in any direction from this house, and you'd still be in Falls Church. And, even if McLean were a block away, this house wouldn't be in McLean.

Nice try OP. Its definitely Falls Church. Sh*t stirrers are usually terrible at their "craft", however.

It's Mclean High School, so I would consider it McLean actually it's better due to metro.

It's all Fairfax County - WTF cares if it's Falls Church or McLean?

That is crazy about the repeat arson! It is an eyesore, but it sounds like the neighbors were assholes. Someone spraypainting some nasty comments on it before one of the fires. Glad that their property values will suffer from their assholedom.

I have friends that reside in Falls Church and are zoned for McLean High School.

I also know people who liv win Herndon and are zoned for Langley High School.

So, High School means nothing. Why the obvious hate on McLean?

There were two other brand new houses on that street in Falls Church that sold for over $1.4 million in 2013. There's plenty of teardown activity in the Haycock area. But that particular site is bad news. There needs to be a house there that looks nothing like the big house that was first torched.
