I know these cuts have been rotting in the bowels of your leaders for a while now, but just where do you people get off? Especially those of you who claim to be Christian. This makes sick to my stomach, especially since I am not in a position to donate much to fix the shortfalls. Honestly - how do you sleep at night?, supporting the monsters who purposefully visit such anguish on their fellow citizens.

give me half of what you earn then I'll change my ways.

Well, thank you for your well-stated, well-thought-out opinion.

(pssst, move along everyone else, nothing to see here nothing to see. . .just a poster who has lost her marbles. . .)

I agree, OP. Thugs, all of them. Economic terrorists.

where does that "half" number come from? to what are you referring? certainly not taxes, which are at historic lows.

Perhaps if we could reduce the fraud in this program, everyone would be more willing to support it. As a Republican, I strongly believe in helping out the truly poor - giving them a leg up and helping them get to a place where they can prosper without government programs. Unfortunately, this program is no longer a temporary fix for many people. It has become a way of life. We really need to scrutinize the benefits of this program so they go to those people who truly need it.

Yes I believe food stamps should be temporary. Even section 8 housing. No more cradle to grave welfare.

Federal, State & local taxes combined. Yeah - it does suck to pay that much after working and studying so hard for so damn long. Why the vitroil? We aren't getting ahead: we are running in place. Don't worry, Sweetie, I grew up extremely poor and am poor today. My children believe they are poor too. Happy now?

There hasn't been "cradle to grave welfare" since welfare reform in the 1990s. The "T" in TANF stands for temporary.

But don't let facts get in your way.

That article cracks me up. Because there are SO many food stamp recipients loading up on fresh broccoli, normally.

Take your bleeding heart elsewhere and leave my tax dollars alone.

So let's talk about that word temporary...

If food stamps stimulate the economy then why doesn't everyone get some ?

I could use some stimulus at Whole Foods. The crap they sell is expensive. And of course I need the most expensive food there is. I am high class.

Yep republicans will not cut welfare to farmers making millions, but kids and old people cut away. Look away, no market forces here.
