What do you think of these names for twin girls?

Dominique and Demitrianna

How about Demeter? Or Demetra? Or Demetria?

Demitrianna seems like two names stuck together -- Dmitri-Anna. (And Dmitri is a boys' name.))

Don't like Dimitriana. Also not a big fan of twin names that start with the same letter. Too cutesy.

I like the name Demeter, PP, and Demi is a cute nickname.

I'm not a twin, but I imagine they might like their own initials?

I like Dominique. Demitrianna will be spelled wrong all her life. Think of your future 4-5 year old learning to spell her name, think of your future 16 year old filling out the SAT forms....

What about Denita? Deanna?

I like Dominique but not Demitrianna. I also agree that a different first letter might help--not only to give them a little individuality, but also for household organization! I have two kids and am constantly using their first initials for things.

Give them names with different initials.

Why a Greek name and a French name? You are trying to make them match by choosing names with the same initial, but they don't coordinate otherwise.

I have twins and I think matchy names are a bad idea, so I am not fond of the alliteration. But I do think it is nice when names (not only of twins, but of siblings) coordinate in some way. That is, if they are both biblical, both Irish, both Arabic, whatever theme you choose.

The two names you suggested are at the same time too matchy (because they are alliterative) and too disparate. Unless you have a specific reason and connection to these names (say, one of you is French and the other has Greek roots), I would keep looking.

I agree! If you go French, for instance, I think Dominique and Camille would be lovely.

Celeste and Oceane are also beautiful and would go with Dominique

I also think that matchy names and alliterative names are too much. I have twins and even in the multiples community, there are many who avoid this. Matchy-matchy names are for the parents. Individual names are for the children. Multiples will already face enough challenges of maintaining a unique identity apart from their sibling(s) and matching names makes this harder.

If you have to have something matchy for yourself, consider matching a syllable besides the first one. Perhaps Dominique and Angelique (also nice as both are French).

If you stay away from the matching and go with origin (e.g. both French), Amelie/Amalie is a lovely French name that could go with Dominique.

Sorry, those names are not good together.
