Federal Obamacare Exchange Launch

Imagine that you had years and a nearly unlimited budget to prepare for the launch of an online service:

http://www.theguardian.com/technology/2013/oct/14/gta-online-rockstar-gamers-offered-cash

"Launched at the beginning of the month, the service has been plagued by technical problems, including disappearing player-characters, and unreliable server access. Many gamers have lost thousands of in-game dollars, during the opening weeks."

Not Obamacare, but Grand Theft Auto.

http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/answer-sheet/wp/2013/10/15/online-common-application-problems-lead-colleges-to-push-back-deadlines

"Problems with the new version of the online Common Application — which is accepted for college admissions by more than 500 colleges and universities — has prompted some schools to push back early decision deadlines, and others are waiting to see when the problems are resolved before deciding whether to do the same thing.

Panicked students and high school admissions counselors as well as college admissions offices have been complaining for weeks that many students have had problems getting onto the Common App site, including staying on the site, entering information, requesting teacher recommendations and making payments."

So. They are pushing back the deadline. Is the administration doing that yet? Not really. They just moved up the date for penalty to February.

I dunno, but there's certainly time to push back the deadline in a few more months if need be. I am assuming that the administration has been a bit busy with other things the past 2 weeks.

I am not worried at all about Obamacare being implemented. It's imploding and there is nothing that Obama or his cronies can do to rectify the course. In the end, the people will speak. I am just going to sit back and watch this debacle unfold and laugh at all the sheeple who wanted this disaster! Good luck getting even a million to sign up.

Sadly, for you, the state exchanges have been working fairly well for the most part. Even worse (for you), they are finally hammering out the bugs in the federal exchange. There will easily be a million enrolled prior to Jan. 1.

What planet are you from? You make it sound like they are signing people up right and left. We will just see, won't we! I hope when you are proven wrong, you are able to admit you were wrong instead of spouting the party line day and night.

Deal. Let's meet back here on Jan. 1 and see which of us will be enjoying crow with our bubbly.

BTW, here is why I am not busily researching crow recipes:

http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2013/10/17/numbers-trickle-in-but-enrolled-figures-for-obamacare-websites-still-unclear/

"The review was released by Kantar US Insights, based on the findings of the Millward Brown Digital research firm. It showed 9.47 million unique visitors to the federal site during the first week, including 3.72 million who tried to register, 1 million successfully registering and 36,000 who completed enrollment. "

"The Advisory Board Daily Briefing, a go-to site for enrollment tracking since signups started Oct 1, says more than 42,000 people have enrolled through the state-run exchanges. That estimate, though, is missing final numbers from several states. "

So, at least 78,000 already enrolled -- that during a two-week period in which the federal website barely worked -- and at least a million in the pipeline.

It's not imploding. It's going to be wildly successful, which is your worst nightmare.

I don't know if you watched what happened the last three weeks, but your kind imploded. Decent people would be humbled by the shellacking you took.

I am not interested in comparing Stats from various biased websites and yes we will meet back here Jan 1 to see how the exchange has rolled out. My money is on one big FLOP! And yes I will be very happy when that happens. Just call me a selfish ahole, but it's better than being an elitist liberal pretending that this is for the common good.

So how do you propose the currently uninsured get health insurance?

I mean, gloating over Heritagecare's implosion isn't really going to provide any healthcare is it ...

I am not going to pretend I have the answers for what plagues the Healthcare Industry. I guess allowing one to purchase across state lines would help. I just don't think there is a way to help the small percentage without inflicting great harm on the rest. It's purely a matter of MATH and LOGIC that Obamacare is not going to work and believing otherwise is living in lala land. Here are a few links to articles from your side stating my case:

Okay, Ted Cruz has told us the horror story of Obamacare -- tripling insurance rates, people losing their insurance, people losing jobs, etc. He bases this assurances on what -- ideology and anecdotes. Maybe the facts will bear him out when it's implemented and there are actual statistics to look at. In that case we can decide either to try to fix it or to trash it and start over. But to declare defeat in advance hardly seems like the path that the Exceptional America so beloved by the right is supposed to take.

For decades virtually everyone in both parties said we needed reform. The Dems wanted single payer, the Reps wanted to stick with private insurance companies. Obama chose the Republican path. If that's too socialist for the tea party, where do they want to go?
