We are moving to a house with no shower curtains required. The bath and two showers are glass doors. I am so glad to be free of shower curtains that my husband forgets to close (to dry) and my children yank on. |
Have fun cleaning water spots off the shower doors. |
Congrats! A fantastic accomplishment. |
+1. You can't throw the glass doors away when they get too dirty either. |
+2. The hot vinegar and blue Dawn mixture works the best. Write that down somewhere...you'll need it. |
I'm with you, OP. We have curtains and I hate them. But my fondest dream is a walk-in shower with no door. Not likely in our tiny 6x8 bathroom. |
I'd like a totally hose-downable bathroom. No grout. A shower that needs no door or curtain. Drain in the floor. Toilet that is not floor mounted.
Not pretty, but easy to keep clean. |
LOL, this sounds like a prison bathroom |
NP here. We use a squeegee which works fine between visits from the housecleaning service. And if not, I don't mind cleaning the glass every two weeks. It takes about 2 minutes with windex and a towel. So much better than dealing with a shower curtain every fricking day. |
I love shower curtains! Why all the hate? |
The best are frame-less shower doors for easy cleaning and nice looks.

I'm with you, OP. We also squeegee the doors after each shower to avoid water spots. The maid comes every 2 weeks, so no soap build up. I find it much easier to keep the glass doors looking good than a shower curtain. And it makes the bathroom feel so much more open! |
I just had glass shower doors removed from our hall bath, and put in a curved shower rod and curtain. So much happier with this!
LOL |
Lucky you! You'll at least not have to fear an intruder startling you while you shower behind a curtain --you'll see HIM first. |
LOL. But seriously, this freaks me out. When I use hotel showers with curtains, I always leave the curtain open a little. |
