do you change toilets/toilet seats when you move?

Anonymous
just wondering. a friend says she would never use the "old" toilets.
Anonymous
I change any toilet seats showing signs of wear or staining first thing. If the finish is still solid, well, that's what bleach is for.

Yes for hygienna and I also put in the soft close

Does this person ever leave the house? How in gods name do they travel or go out to eat or work? Sounds OCD to me.
Anonymous
Yes, with very rare exceptions.

We move all the time btw.
Anonymous
We replace every toilet.
Anonymous
My parents do this. We didn't even think about it.
Anonymous
Geez. No. I scrubbed them clean, but felt no need to replace them.

I can see replacing the seats but the toilets themselves?

We have an original "Acme" toilet from the 1930's in our house. IT works great, it's clean and I love it and it goes great with the clawfoot tub. Now I'm glad no OCD weirdos have owned our house who would have uselessly trashed it.

We changed two toilets because they were that golden yellow color. We replaced all toilet seats with the soft close.

What is soft close and where do you get it? If it eliminates the loud banging when my son drops the toilet seat, I want one.
Anonymous
Yes. Even when I rented I changed them
Anonymous
Yes, I changed them.

Get the soft close, it is life changing, a fix that only takes a few minutes. Ours is by Bemis, I think it cost about $25! It cannot be slammed or dropped. I love it.
