How much do you pay for a Sport & Health gym membership (NoVA)?

| We have a family membership. It costs $140/month. I think you can get a cheaper one if it's only for use at one club. Ours is for all clubs. |

Wow, $140 is a lot more than I expected, albeit DH was paying $100/month for an ancient membership. I was thinking the prices came down in the last 5 years.
Anyone know how to get a discount? |

| The new 24 Hour Fitness opens in a couple of weeks in Tysons (next to Wal-Mart) - they are having a special now for membership. Looks pretty nice, I'm considering joining. |

| Slightly off topic and off location, but last year (Aug 2012) I was able to sign up with Planet Fitness in Falls Church/Seven Corners for $100 for an entire year if I pre-paid, which I did. That was a promo pricing. Signed up DW as well. We're occasional users of the gym so that worked out us. Nothing fancy there, just the basics but open 24hrs during weekdays. |

| We pay $105 for a double membership (DH and I). It allows us access to any of the Sport&Healths. I was a member first for like $89/month or so (this was about 5 years ago) and then they had a deal where you could add a family member for an additional $10 or so / month (this was about 4 years ago), and so we put DH on there too. For a while it stayed at $99/month and then just last year they upped it by about $5. |

Has an indoor pool only - 3 lap lanes. Pricing is on-line - I was looking last night at their info. The Falls Church one has good yelp reviews - has anyone actually been to one? How does it compare to Sport and Health? I have not been impressed by the Tysons Sport and Health but I hear that the Regency one is nicer. Equinox is very nice but I assume more expensive (and also no outdoor pool). |

| Read the contract over and over. During a promotion, we signed up and now we can't get out so thought a big buy out cost!!! |
