| My DD is turning 4 and would love to celebrate with a cooking party. (At that age, realistically, we're talking about something like pizza and a simple dessert.) Are there any places in DC that do this?? I've found services that will come to your home to cook with kids, but we can't possibly squeeze 20 friends into our tiny city kitchen. Google hasn't been helpful -- any leads? |
| Contact some non-chain (not Pizza Hut) pizzarias. They may be willing to do an 11-12:30 party on a Sunday, for example. |
Can they do it if they don't do this as a regular part of their business (ie, will their insurance and business license allow this)? |

OP,
This was a thread on cooking classes. Many of the same places that offer classes also do birthday parties: http://www.dcurbanmom.com/jforum/posts/list/312820.page#3685878 There's also Tiny Chefs: http://tinychefs.com/ |
| I once saw a groupon for a pizza birthday party at Potomac pizza - check with them! |
| Also check homemade pizza company - I think they do parties, too |
|
OP here -- thanks. I'll try Potomac and Homemade, along with a few others. (Guessing Pete's or Comet wouldn't have the kitchen space.)
For the PP who suggested Tiny Chefs, do you know if they have a party space? The website only promotes parties where their people come to you, but it otherwise looks perfect. |
You'd have to ask them. It's possible that they may work with certain restaurants for parties. You may also be able to rent space at a community center as well. (My kid took one of their classes, which was held at a school.) |
| Z-pizza often can host the parties and the kids can make their own pizzas. |
