Stomach bug question

My son is 2, and has been battling a diarrhea stomach bug off and on for the past few weeks. He is fine on the BRAT diet, but when we start adding back food, we have problems. He has been to the doctor, who said his stomach felt normal, and we did a stool sample which came back fine. Anyone else dealing with this or have advice? He was fine for 3 days with normal BMs but now we have gone back to runny ones.

We are going back to the doctor for a weight check, but he seems hydrated and to be acting normal. I just don't know what to do.
