Received an amazing First Birthday gift - must share

My DD just had her first birthday, and a friend of ours bought her this gift. It is simply amazing! Very thoughtful and unique:

It shows the constellation from the night she was born. Over the Washington, DC landscape. I can see this being in her apartment, when she is grown. So cool.

Many times people are looking for unique gifts - here is one that the parents (and child) will really treasure.

Note to self: Take a photo of the actual night sky at the birth of friends' babies.

Yeah this is def. from someone with connections to the company. It's not even written believably enough to be random. BTW... I don't even like the print.

I thought it was someone with a purpose but I still think it is pretty interesting. I'd want to see the actual image before purchasing though.

OP here - i have NOTHING to do w/ the company. I'm a SAHM who rec'd the gift last week. Usually I will go to personalization mall or something similar (frecklebox), but thought this was really neat. It's more than just the photo, it has the stars allignment, etc.

Whatever - don't like it - don't buy it.

Giving artwork as a gift is risky unless you know the person really truly wants to put it up, and won't feel obligated to do so or guilty for not doing it.

Wow, everyone is so paranoid on here. Even if she worked for the company or was connected to it, if the recommendation is helpful, great. If you don't like it, don't buy it. For sentimental people (of which, I am not really one), this would be a nice gift. You gotta know your audience though.

not OP but we received this as a wedding gift. I thought it was pretty cool.

I think that's a great idea and would have loved something unique like that. I love when people mention unusual things.

I wouldn't really like the print, but recognize that others would. one of my friends sent the New York Times from the day that DS was born. I love that idea and I think he will enjoy having it when he is older.

I liked the I See Me Book done with my son's name. That was probably the best first bday gift he rec'd.

Well, I just bought one. I waiting for my receipt, because I accidentally had to order twice (stupid me).
