travel bag suggestions for Recaro car seats??

I'm having such a hard time finding a good quality carseat cover that fits my children's Recaro carseats (1 Pro Ride and 1 Pro Sport). Any suggestions??? The J L Childress came the closest to fitting our Pro RIde but it barely fit and the zipper tore out after the 2nd or 3rd use. Thanks!!

I don't know if I would do a cover where the airlines could not tell it was a carseat. It might get thrown around and damaged. Why not just a clear plastic garbage bag?

We have a Pro Ride and our travel arrangement is to own a lightweight car seat for travel... The Pro Ride is a beast, and I'm neither willing to check it (even gate check) nor haul it through an airport.

Thanks for the replies so far.
11:27 Car seat bags that are designed for carseats make it pretty obvious that that's what it is, but I'm not sure anything would keep it from being thrown around. For that reason I would be afraid to put it in a clear bag that offers no real protection.
11:37 Do you feel your child is as safe in the light weight carseat? We have traveled w/ the Pro Ride, it is a pain in the rear but we are typically gone a few weeks at a time so I was happy to have something I felt they were secure in. We also have to take a transport van from the airport to the ferry so we have to have something with us for the kids to sit in.

Any more suggestions?

we used one a couple yrs ago as we needed something for air travel - i forget the specific reasons but we needed it. we did a search on amazon and found one fitting the recaro. i will warn you however - travelling with a recaro is a beast. we never tried that again!

11:37 here. We typically don't do a ton of driving at our vacation destinations, but I still feel better about having DS in a lightweight seat (ours is a Safety 1st Avenue) than having him in a bigger seat that has been checked and (mis)handled who knows how.

Hmmm, just learned that JL Childress offers custom made carseat bags for $50-ish or $80ish if you want padding. Also the Childress Elite was designed for the Recaro Pro Sport and Pro Ride series.
