I liked both of these schools a lot, as well; we applied to CCPC when my son was 2 yo and TSNS when he was 3 yo. He didn't get into CCPC, but the director was extremely nice, asking me to call back each month to check on the wait list. She was really lovely. Had my son gotten in there, I'm sure we would have liked it.
When I went to the TSNS open house the following year, I had such a great feeling about it, and that's where we ended up this year. My gut was right -- it's a truly lovely place. Parents are very low-key, not status-y. Overwhelmingly progressive politically. The teachers are very impressive in terms of their credentials, but they're also so lovely with the children. The director founded the school 17 years ago and is still the person overseeing operations day to day. It's just a wonderful place. Obviously, it's a Jewish school, but there are non-Jewish families, as well as a very large number of families with only one Jewish parent (like my family; one Jewish parent, but we don't identify as any religion). It's a very welcoming place, but there is a Jewish component to the curriculum. Just FYI.
