Compacted 4/5 math

Anonymous
Does anyone know when MCPS is going to determine which students have qualified for compacted 4/5 math next year? Our ES told us that the students have been evaluated and the school has made its recommendations but that MCPS will determine which students qualify.

We're still waiting. DS was tested back in April. No clue when the announcement will be made though.

We haven't heard either. Try asking your school's principal.

Yea, at last PTA meeting our principal said they sent their recommendations to the county and they were waiting to hear back.

Principals got info back from central office on Friday. They have to put together their final lists.

Our school received the cutoff information yesterday. Teacher told us info for our child today.

Does anyone know what percentage of 3rd graders will take compact 4/5 next year?

Will you share what school told you the information today?

The percentage varies by school. According to our principal, 20 students were recommended from our school. She indicated that this was on the high side, statig that some schools only recommended "a handful".

20 out of how many total students ?

20 out of approximately 110. I was told that every 3rd grader was evaluated and only 20 made the cut.

I wonder what the criteria were, and who made the final decision.
