Sites for Boston victims.

Seeing as we have a couple threads discussing the suspects and the crime. It might be good to also have a thread focused on the victims and on the help they need. I've added links to their public fundraising sites. A good way to put names to faces and to read their stories. Some have had hundreds of thousands of dollars donated and others very little. There are probably more. These are the ones I could find.

Thanks for this. Is one of these the 2 brothers who were roofers?

Erika Brannock

A Baltimore preschool teacher who was supporting her mother running a marathon. She lost her leg in the blast.

Erika was my good friends son's teacher and much loved. She taught 4 year olds. She is going to be in the hospital for at least a month and has a tough road, but wants to go back to teaching.

Sometimes I question such funds. For example a friend's fund is on your list and admittedly they don't need the money. Thankfully he is an honest person and will allocate the funds to survivors in (actual) need. Not everyone is so honest.

OP here. I don't disagree. I didn't actually post these to get people to fund or to request donations. More to put a human face and story to the survivors. Some will absolutely need funds as they have significant costs that won't be covered due to life altering injuries. Your friend should probably take down the fund or ask the person who started it to take it down if they don't need the money. There are many general funds for people who want to donate generally. Everyone should do due diligence before donating to anything online.

Thank you op. You are pretty awesome for pulling this list together. I just went through each link to learn more about the victims. Its great to see us talking about and honoring the victims instead of the monsters who did this.

Post or link the sites to all the media outlets you can, people want to help and give and you have to make it "easy" (for lack of a better word) for people to find the site(s) and donate. Yesterday I was online and noticed a woman & her husband who were injured, the fund set up for them had raised about $15k (as of 10am). I was watching the news a few hours later at noon and her mother was on with Anderson Cooper and then at 9pm Anderson Cooper was interviewing the girl in her hospital room. I looked at her fund raising page at noon today and people have donated over $100k. I thank that is amazing and I hope the victims have as much as possible raised. That is the power of the media, I realize people must want to heal how they want to heal but that is a perfect example of getting your story out. Please help get the links out to as many sources as possible.

An event for Jane Richard, sister of Martin Richard. She lost her leg. She was an avid Irish dancer. The local Irish dance studios are holding events on May 5th to raise money. In MD it will be at McGinty's. In Va it will be at P Brennan's. Probably more locations to come
