Just got back from dr. and she said I'm 2.5 centimeters dilated. I will be approx. 37 weeks tomorrow. How soon before baby comes? |
Impossible to tell. I was at 2 cm for weeks before being induced. My doctor told me that being 1-3 cm doesn't necessarily mean labor is impending. Or you could go tonight! (But not likely, especially if your first.) Labor is unpredictable. |
It could be weeks but I was the same and did lots of walking, DS ended up coming up at 38 weeks! |
There is no way to know this. I was 4cm for 3 weeks and 2 days before going into labor. |
Hi OP! I'll be 37 weeks on Friday! I was 3 cm at my 36 week appointment and unfortunately I don't think it means anything. This is my second and I was 4 cm for two weeks before my daughter came. |
And I never had a measurable dilation (0-10 in 60 seconds ladies, thank goodness I was already in the hospital for the induction!) Good luck OP. |
Unreliable indicator. Could be tomorrow, could be a month from now. Pack your bag but don't hold your breath. |
Hmmm. Let me get out my crystal ball.... |
Took me 5 weeks |
i agree it's an unreliable indicator of when labor will start. however i think it may be a decent indicator of how fast your early stage of labor might be. in my experience (as a doula) women who are 2 or more cm dilated prior to the onset of labor tend to have quicker early labors and quicker labors in general. this is not a "rule" of course since so many things impact pace of labor, but in my experience, it often holds true. |
Sometime before 42 weeks, at least based on my experience!
I was almost 3 cm at 37 weeks with #1. He arrived at 41 w 6 d. |
How long was your labor with him? |
Was not dilated at all until my 39 week appt, when I was 1.5 cm. That night, my water broke and my DC was born 5 hours later. DC was my first. |
I was 6 cm for a week before I went into labor. |
