Are the same people that want McCain to reclaim his Maverick identity, the same people that voted against him in 2008?

McCain 100% had my vote until he picked that wacko idiot running mate. She ended his campaign.

Agreed. I was going to voite for McCain until he picked Palin. I still remember the announcement. That is why he lost. His "maverick" behavior is why he was even in the running - that is what folks LIKE about him. Picking Palin was the worst move he has ever made politically.

This Congrats DCUM and teachers unions any hope you had was lost because you ticked off everyone by calling people you had no business of calling

Rubio has this message too. I presume others.

Stick with your state when communicating with US senators.

I have a problem with this line - senators vote on issues where the whole country in affected and should be answerable to the whole country.

Agreed. He would have been president if he would have someone else.

Nope. No Republican was winning that election after Lehman Brothers.

I don't understand the point of opposing DeVos -- isn't it obvious she'll get the job in the end? If it comes to a tie it's not like Pence isn't going to support Trump's pick. And no, I don't like DeVos. Dems are just powerless and we are going to see a bunch of unqualified people/banker billionaires running our country.

So the talking points are:
-Protesters are paid
-Phone calls are from out of state
-And townhalls are cancelled because they are scared?

You're like 4 years old with this binary thinking. I can not want someone to be president for many reasons while also having respect for other aspects of their person.

How convenient.

I mean...what else can we do? They are going to run/ruin the country as they see fit. She'll get confirmed despite all of this effort and hoopla. I don't get it, I guess I was looking for an explanation of how all of this opposition will actually change anything.

Ellison was on the Daily Show addressing this very point last night. He quoted another politician whose name I can't remember, and explained that people don't always need to know that you will win, they need to know that you will fight for what you/they believe in. That's why that sit-in on gun control was so moving. That's why this time in history SINCE the election has been so moving. People are resisting and the politicians are learning from them. A person that is not willing to fight for what is important to her/him and her/his constituents should not be elected.

It is obvious that Tillerson, Sessions, Pruitt, etc. will or have gotten the job in the end. DeVos is in a whole 'nother league of unqualified. She probably will be confirmed, which is sad.
