I'm not the OP, but was the child in a large family. It was a great experience and to this day, I feel like I know more about sharing, teamwork, and looking for the common good than my peers. OP, my question is: do you have some kind of system to have one-on-one time with each child? My parents found that the biggest challenge.

I'm just wondering why any woman would choose to undergo multiple pregnancies. Knowing what it does to one's body, it seems like an unnecessary hardship. I mean, I can understand huge families in the past, what with infant mortality, but I don't get it in this day and age.

It's not a hardship. I'm sorry that you can't handle it but some can. We have a large family because we enjoy it and that's that

Don't forget farming families and "city folks" who sent their kids off to work in factories.

I don't get it either, to be honest. Who wants to be a slave to a house filled with diapers and chaos?

I only have 4 but I think I can answer this question. There are diapers and chaos, but also a lot of love.

I take my hats off to you. My mom would have had 8 kids too if she could've SAH and I'm sure she would've been great.
